Ru Ramping
That was unofficial name of my village, given by the elders since 1910s . According to the folklore the name Ru Ramping originated from one particular pine tree which was slim in the middle, unlike the rest who were big and strong thus they became wind cheater that protect the beach.

Kampung Ru Ramping later has been gazetted as Kuala Rompin - Kuala because it is situated at the river mouth and Rompin is shortened from Ru Ramping. Rompin was under the administration of British District Officer. British ruled Malaya from 1948 to 1957 when Malaya gained independence . Later in 1963 The Federation Of Malaysia was born which include The Peninsular ( Malaya ), Sabah and Sarawak.

Rompin is in the state of Pahang and it is facing South China Sea and a gateway to Pulau Tioman. Every year Rompin will be hit by monsoon rain and some of the low lying area will be flooded.
