Little angels or little devils? -- Part 2

Apa akan jadi pada kanak-kanak dalam kategori ini, will they be angels or devils?

Apa akan jadi kepada kanak-kanak ini bila mereka dewasa kelak, will they be angels or devil.

Little angels or little devils?

We often wonder what happened to our cute, sweet, comel, manja and so on children, for when they have grown up they become different people. New born babies have this particular smell which is very sweet and pure and very lovable. they can melt even the hati keras macam batu people.

We never ceased to praise our children when they are small. Everything they do are cute and we will tell everybody how cute they are when they try to walk, to talk or to play.Parents will shower their children with love and care. And we can see they grow in front of our very own eyes, from infant to babies, from one year old and suddenly its time they go to school already.

What we never realised is after they are 4 or 5 years, they are not as cute as when they were below 3 years of age. Some grow up very naughty, demanding or become cengenge ( kuak jerik )ie kuat melalak. I remember when one of the nephews who liked to melalak everyday ( without fail ) until he goes to school ( primary ). He will cry non stop for hours at the top of his voice and the mother will ignore him totally. She said when you pujuk him he will become worst and the melalak time will become longer. If we left him be he knew when to stop, ie after 2 hours. But eventually he grew up to be a good looking boy, very curteous and very good at his studies.

The other one became so aggressive, when crying he will attack everybody near him. All of us makcik-makcik dah kena attack by him. One other, like to hit others of his age ( his siblings and cousins ) with whatever things he had in his hands. Nevertheless these two grew up fine young men.So, we cannot really judge small children, they might change when they grow up.No doubt some will carry their bad behaviour until forever if it is not nipped in the bud.

Some girls are vain when they are small. Clever to use their mothers lipsticks or perfumes or try on their mothers dress or shoes. Some 5 year old insisted to have high heels shoes. Her mother got so fed up she went and buy high heels size 7 for the daughter to wear.Of course the girl cried sampai tertidur. When she woke up she seemed to forget all her problems. But the degil ones will still remember what she wanted and continued crying until kena sergah atau kena pukul.

Sometimes small children can be little angels and some are little devils ------
depending on how they are brought up.

Perlukan Pakar Jiwa

Can you imagine if someone has problem with her husband, her children, all her menantus ,even her grandchildren, how are you going to help her? Or if someone has a long illness and keep fretting about it, you can't say sabarlah, sabarlah, sedangkan sabar ada hadnya! This is when you need a psychiatrist!

Aaaadakah aaandaaaaa..............?

I was shocked when a mother told me her son is not interested in girls. Another revealed her nephew told her the same thing. And they don't think there's anything wrong with them.I was so curiga, what does it mean? Another friend told me .... in other words they are telling them they are gays. Biar bebeno?

When I told my daughter about it ,she said may be it is betul mak, sekarang ni ramai je orang gay. Imagine if your son say the same thing? My daughter said kalau mak mestilah mak pengsan. I said yes, but after you wake from your pengsan what would you do?

Of course you akan menangis meraung-raung,feeling guilty ... where did I go wrong , punahlah anak aku! etc, etc ! pengsan balik bila sedar meraung lagi.Lepas tu? The most logical thing to do is confront him betul-betul,put some senses into his head and convert him to become straight again. If that don't work pujuk, kalau tak makan pujuk ? threaten him. Kalau tak makan saman jugak?

Go to the next step mohon doa pada Yang Maha Kuasa, sembahyang banyak-banyak,sembahyang hajat, sembahyang istikharah, sembahyang taubat dan lain-lain, doa,doa,doa......

Tak jadi juga, pergi jumpa tok guru, ustaz, tok alim, tok imam, tok bilal, tok khatib......minta air jampi, minta air penawar, minta buat ubat......Dengar kata ada orang pandai berubat di mana saja ,pergi dapatkan ubat untuk anak.Anak masa tu ikut saja kata maknya, maklumlah mak dah tak keruan, dia pun buat muka toye ( I'm not guilty!)

Tapi hakikatnya buat apa pun tak ada kesannya kalau tuan yang ampunya badan itu tak mau berubah, walau kita beritau hukumnya haram, haram, haram ,no, no, no, la', la', la'abadan!

Kampung bandar,kampung kampung.

Setelah berpuluh tahun balik kampung ie Kedah - Pahang, Pahang - Kedah, Kelantan - Kedah, Kelantan - Pahang, KL - Kedah, KL -Pahang, pemandangan sepanjang jalan masih diingati.

Tunjuklah muka, saya ingin mengenalinya, nak ucapkan syabas, keep up with the good work!

Queen Control

While some unlucky women married monsters , men are luckier, some of them married to queens --- Queen Control!

Those days I never know about QC , all I can remember was if a man is so quiet and nice and homely my mother will say he is a really nice man. He went to work on time, come home on time. During Maghrib prayer he'll be in the mosque until Isya'. Never know how to lepak at coffee shop , minum kopi kat rumah je!!
Such men will definitely get the title "Kena Queen Control ".

There are many ways to tame husbands ( even though some of them are not wild ! )I often heard in my kampung that certain makcik had given her husband makan nasi kangkang, that is why her husband looked so dungu, ikut kata!

If your husband hangs clothes and is seen by the neighbours , they will talk. Those days men don't do household chores,if they do they'll be labelled as kena QC.And his friends will start to mencucuk jarum by saying like... Engkau ni baik sangat ,aku tak pernah bagi muka kat bini aku!
Tak ke male chauvinist - Kena nasi kangkang padan muka!!

I've come across of ladies who really control their husbands, like they really monitor their husbands movement. Some are really clever to calculate the time their husbands leave the house, reach the office ( plus and minus the traffic jam )and they must be at home at certain times. Fail to do so he will be hanged with piano wires!

There's one lady who is really jealous of her husband. She will dictate her husband in everything. She will selongkar her husband's briefcase , check his wallet and pockets and even his handphone to find even she doesn't know what. Bewaaaree husbens,if you have girl friends make sure lock everything you have. Kalau tidaak mampuih hang!

Some wives are really suspicious of their husbands. So, before their husbands cheat on them , they might as well take precautions, like to maaandraaam their husbands or to psycho them. Some men are suffering from mental abuse.

There are cases husbands being struck with hot iron and got beaten by their wives. But these are rare cases as compared to wives who are being physically abused!

One guy used to complain , he is left with very little money every end of the month,ie after housing loan, car loan and other loans deductions from his pay. He has just enough for duit rokok . He said -- Nasib baik kuasa talaq atas tangan suami kalau tak dah 20 kali aku kena cerai!

So, kecek molek sikit denge bini demo....

Moh Balik Kampung!

Reading and Understanding

I came to know about AlQuran Resam Uthmani in the early 80's , got one mushaf from The Iraqi Embassy.I didn't read alQuran since I left my secondary school.I was not familiar with Mushaf Rasm Uthmani thus I showed the AkQuran to my ustazah friend and asked her to teach me how to read.

She then explained to me about the Mushaf Uthmani which is different from Al Quran Imlaai I read sunce pre school.

So I started reading again when I'm 30 yrs old on my own ( of course baca lintang pukang macam muallaf ) .Much later I learned proper reading from Mak Cik Nab Guru Quran when I was in KB.At first it was very difficult to read AlQuran with proper tajwid and everytime I came back from mengaji I felt very exhausted and my throat became dry.

Dr Fatma always scolded me - Allah.. tak habis-habis belajar mengaji, dok loghat baca tak loghat nak tau makna!
How true! Bak kata alif besar batang nyor pun langgar. Most of us read like parrots.

What we learned the first round was only the basic. There are makhraj huruf to be corrected, to know when to wakaf and ibtida', the length of almadd, the idgham and ikhfa' to be pronounced the proper way..

There was this instance, one Malaysian read Surah Ar Rahman in Masjidil Haram aloud, without realising all the Arabs around him were sobbing.

When I learn Al Quran in UIA I realised my knowledge was minimal and my reading was below par. The advantages in learning in UIA is that all the lecturers are qualified in this field, they teach with proper syllabus, we have to sit for exams and get the certs.Later we can teach our children, grand children and friends the proper way of reading. And there are courses of the tafsir of Al Quran for us to know more about the Al Quran..

Married to Monsters.

Sometimes people don't realise they are maried to monsters. The usual victims are always ladies aka wives. The saddest thing is that they have to accept it,as if it is normal to be bullied by the monsters. Some do realise but apparently there's nothing they can do about it. Thus, they suffer in silence or they share the misery with their children.

These monsters appear in many forms. Some of them appear to be gentlemen, some of course look like pecah rumah kind of face some look so harmless and kind of pijak semut tak mati. Not many people know how abusive they are unless they are close to them, like if they are your relatives, friends or your next door neighbours.

One such example was a typical husband who take his wife's paycheck and bank in his own account. So he will give the wife daily pocket money to go to work. From the out side you see what a doting husband he is,send wife to the office, fetch her, carry her bag, appear to be giving her money, buy clothes for her ( of course some of the colours are not suitable for young ladies like kelabu tahi anjing or some other kepam colours, that is man's taste ) and so on that make all her colleages jealous of her. Some will utter words among them, like my husband never carry my heavy bag even if I'm 9 months pregnant!Or My husband never give me pocket money, I have to spend my own money if I want anything! But only close friend knows how she suffers.

Someone else ( who told everybody about her problems ) said her parents are poor and expect her to contribute to the family, but she said she had to keraskan hati and buat alasan to pacify her feeling, that her parents are okay, they don't need her money. She had no money in hands and too scared to ask from her husband!

The worst among the worst are those who hurt their wives. There is a nice and beautiful lady who has a really violent husband, beats her almost everyday. Her family advice her many times to report to the police but she refuses.Maybe she has no confidence the police can help her or she doesn't know how, or she is scared her husband will be more violent if he knows about it.She has a few brothers who will maime him if the sister gives the green light. But one thing she does right is sending her daughter ( still in primary school )to a fully boarded school in a nearby town ).As for her, the last time I went back to my kampung she had a broken arm ( she was 7 months pregnant) and insisted that she slipped in the bathroom. And of course the whole family ,even the whole kampung felt like nak rebus laki dia buat sup!

Happy retirement!

Many people couldn't take the idea of staying at home and become a full time housewife. The idea of not working may shudder some people, they can't think of staying at home all day doing nothing, they'll be bored to death! For me ,I really enjoy my retirement. Every morning I wake up feeling happy knowing that I don't have to go to work on time, driving bumper to bumper and ( sometimes ) cursing the traffic jam.

The idea of opting started when the govt allow ladies to retire at the age of 40. But at forty I thought I was still young and I still could handle being a working woman + house work + looking after 4 kids. When I was 45 I felt I was still strong and I could still work. Came 50 I felt I couldn't go any further, I miss my home so much and I want to do other things, like doing nothing at home .At that time all my children were pursuing their studies and my husband was still working...and me alone at home......yea! Merdeka, merdeka, merdeka!

And who said doing nothing at home? If you want to do all the chores you could start from morning until the sun sets. There are 1 million and one things you can do ....like having morning coffee with a friend/friends ,read papers, buy all the magazines on the rack and read them from cover to cover, gardening -- like watering the plants twice a day, pruning ,raking leaves, watching tv etc, etc.

I have friends who are very scared of retiring. They feel as if the world is going to end after retirement. One close friend of mine told me she couldn't eat rice months before her husband's retirement. She was very angry with someone up there who didn't recommend her husband to extend his service ( her husband was one of the top notch govt officer ). She was lucky, not long after that her husband got a job as a consultant in the private sector.

Another top notch govt officer's wife was trying desperately to pull all the strings and cables just before her husband retired. She hoped those strings and cables could get her husband to extend service after 55. I'm sure she was mad because shortly after that the govt extended the retirement age to 56 and recently to 58 as compared to private sectors at 60! Eventually her husband too got a job in the private sector.

To punish or not to punish

It is not easy to become parents. The Malays has this proverb - lebih baik bela lembu sekandang dari menjaga anak seorang ( or dua orang or tiga orang or.., or...). That is because to look after cows is so easy. Morning let go of the cows, let them cari makan sendiri, merayau ikut suka hati, eat people's plant, cross the road and sometimes landed under the stemroll. Come evening the owner will look for them and bring them back and tie them under coconut trees or at tiang rumah.

But we can't do that to our children. We have to feed them, clothes them ,teach them what's right and what's wrong, teach them how to pray, to read and recite Quran, train them to fast during fasting month, send them to school, give them love and the list goes on until doomsday.Failing to do all that, we might create monsters or devils or..or....Sheesh! No wonder people would rather bela lembu sekandang.

To punish or not to punish---if your children meraung-raung in the supermarket because they want toys and you ignore them. Or if you take them to the choc dept they want all the chocs on the shelves and already stuff some of them in their pockets! Or you take them to eat fast food , they want everything on the menu. On top of that they will spill the drinks, quarrel with the siblings and start throwing chicken drumstick at each other.

You must wash their clothes, like three pairs each during school days ( school uni, baju main and pyjamas which will be soiled beyond recognition ).Tell them 10 times to wash their hands before eating or go take your bath or hang your towel properly or...or....

And sometimes they dare to teach you something when you scold them. Like don't play with cats , you'll get rashes. They will say its okay mama ,let me show you how to play with cat. Like this...stroke his head until it lentok then hold its front legs with one hand and its hind legs with the other hand, then you place the cat on your head stomach down and then shift it to your left cheek then to the right cheek and to your chin. And shove the cat to you so you can try . Would you?.

Or they teach you how to play with the security blanket.Hold the very corner of the kepam blanket rub it on your nose while smelling the 'sweetness' of the since they were born blanket.Would you? Punish or not to punish them.

But on the other hand we can tell them not to play the fool with mothers because mothers will recognize their children even though they are a mile away or by the glimpse of their ears!.

Many of us still think that our children are still small even though they are already 40 years old.Mothers still scold their children even though they are lawyers, or magistrates or pemain music!.
